The Zen Baby soundtrack is filled with original scores of dreamy
piano, Brazilian guitar, and amazing rhythmic and organic body
percussion work all composed by the following talented musicians.
The
soundtrack is truly unique, and we are proud to have worked with
such
wonderful artists.

Michael Packer – Music Supervisor/Drums
Michael received his B.A. with an emphasis in percussion from the
University of Northern Colorado School of Music. His performance
credits include film, television, and musicals. He has performed
live with Free Flight, Nils Lofgren, Carl Anderson, Ben Vereen, Steve
Allen, Michael Bolton and the Cirque du Soleil, to name a few. Michael
also teaches at the Los Angles Music Academy and has published several
instructional books and a CD-Rom on drum technique. He is endorsed
by Zildijian Cymbals, Regal Tip Drumsticks, and the EPad. As Music
Supervisor, Michael is responsible for bringing together all of the
amazing musicians featured on Zen Baby and making the creative vision
of the Zen Baby soundtrack a reality.
Giba Alves – Body
Percussion
Brazilian drummer, Giba Alves, studied at Clam ULM, Auê Núcleo
Musical, and the Los Angeles Music Academy. He is a founding member
of the Brazilian percussion group Barbatuques,
whose artists use their bodies as musical instruments. In 1999, Giba
studied with Carl Smith and performed with him in the group Stomp.
He also has taught many percussion workshops and played with a carnival
samba group. Giba’s distinctive percussive sounds add to the
uniqueness of Zen Baby’s upbeat, globally inspired rhythms.
Chris Barron – Piano
Southern California native Chris Barron has been playing piano since
age 7. He has backed such greats as Celia Cruz, Francisco Aguabella,
and various RMM Recording Artists. Chris has also accompanied jazz
flutist Tim Weisberg, pop artist Stacy Q, and Wendy Fraser and was
the house accompanist for guest artists on the “Home and Family
Show” filmed at Universal Studios. His most recent project
is composing and recording with the Banda Bros, a fresh Latin jazz
project with an emphasis on Afro-Cuban rhythms. Chris’ dreamy
piano orchestrations, heard throughout Zen Baby, enchant infants,
toddlers and adults alike.
Roberto Montero – Guitar
Roberto, a native of Brazil, graduated form the Los Angeles Music
Academy where he currently works as an Ensemble Workshop Musician
in Brazilian Music, Jazz, Funk, R&B and Afro-Cuban genres. He
has an extensive studio experience as a composer, arranger and guitarist.
He has performed live extensively in Asia, Africa and U.S.A with
Sergio Mendes & Brasil 2001 as guitarist/singer. Roberto is a
Yamaha endorsed musician. His beautiful guitar melodies seamlessly
blend with Zen Baby’s artful and whimsical images.
